| Description | : | The Church and Churchyard were located on the corner of Laygate and Commercial Road. The parish may be better known to many people by its former name of High Shields. The consecration of the original church of the parish, Holy Trinity, was on the 19th September 1834. Holy Trinity Church was demolished and disappeared before anyone could argue for the buildings retention. Today the outline of where the church stood is still visible and the churchyard is a grassy park area with the gravestones removed. |
