Description	:	The Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption (commonly known as 'Saint Mary's Cathedral) is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh. It was opened in 1814 as a chapel and was designed by James Gillespie Graham (1776-1855). After the restoration of the Roman Catholic Church's hierarchy in Scotland, the Church was renamed the Metropolitan Cathedral of the new Archdiocese of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh in 1886. The Cathedral contains the national shrine of Saint Andrew and also is the final resting place of some of the Archbishops of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh.
