Description | : | The first St Margaret's church was built in 1517 by Thomas Bonde. By 1730 the church had fallen into ruin, and it was not until the 1830's that funds were raised to rebuild the church. It was re-dedicated in 1835. Burials first commenced in 1833 and the register dates from 1843. The church was completely restored externally and internally in 1929. Due to falling numbers the church was closed for worship in 2005, by which time it had become a grade II listed building.
