Description	:	The first church on this site was completed in 1835. In 1886 it was largely demolished to make way for the building you see today. It is much larger than its predecessor and is located in the centre of the village. The remains of a much earlier church were unearthed in Bye Yards field in 1820. Human bones were also found at a lower level, suggesting it had a graveyard. Dinnington was once a mining community. The pit closed in 1966 and some of the remaining buildings can be seen from Prestwick Rd.	The first church on this site was completed in 1835.
