| Description | : | In 1709, the Society of Friends of Stockport (the Quakers) purchased land from Robert Newton. It was conveyed to Benjamin Bangs (or Banks). In 1787, additional land was purchased from Matthew Meyer of Stockport. The purpose of the land was to build a Monthly Meeting House and a to provide a place of burial.
