She had lived her entire life on the homestead farm where she was born northwest of Ritzville. Friday of last week she was taken to Hillcrest manor. She suffered a cerebal hemorrhage there and died early Saturday morning. She had suffered from a lingering illness. She had lived her entire life on the homestead farm where she was born northwest of Ritzville. Friday of last week she was taken to Hillcrest manor. She suffered a cerebal hemorrhage there and died early Saturday morning. She had suffered from a lingering illness. Alvina Albertina Wolsborn was born April 11, 1898, the daughter of Henry and Augusta Schuelke Wolsborn. She attended the Ritzville elementary and secondary schools. She never married, continuing to live with her parents. She cared for them until their deaths and continued to live on the ranch six miles northwest of Ritzville. Much of her time was spent in the garden, especially in raising flowers which she shared with others. Surviving are three brothers, Albert, Martin and Harry, of Ritzville, and two sisters, Minnie Wolsborn of Ritzville and Mrs. Ray (Anna) Buyers of Portland, Ore. There are three nephews and one niece surviving. A brother, Will, died before Alvina's demise. Miss Wolsborn was a lifetime member of the Philadelphia Congregational church. She was a member of the first confirmation class there when the Rev. Jacob Morach conducted the rite. The Rev. Herbert C. Haemmelmann conducted the funeral service. A male quartet, Carl Hoefel, Jake Hoefel, Jess Graber and Elmer Heimbigner, sang "In the Garden," and "Nather Daheim." Mrs. Haemmelmann was organ accompanist. Pallbearers were Robert Ott, Chester Templin, Ralph Kisler, Donald Miller, Jonathan Borgens and Harley Bauer. Burial was in Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Thank you Sue Gardner for this transcription.
