Beckman of the Grace United Methodist Church, Story City, officiating. Burial was in Story Memorial gardens Cemetery. Mr. Dickinson, 73, died at his home in Gilbert March 30. Andrew L. Dickinson, son of Rudolph and Hattie Dickinson was born June 29, 1896 at Story City. He was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a barber for more than 50 years and served as Gilbert postmaster for 21 years until he retired in 1963. He was active in Community affairs and was a member of the Gilbert Congregational Church. In 1918, he was married to Marie Johnson and later was married to Helen Kingsbury in 1932. Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Robert Dickinson of Knoxville, and Donald Dickinson of Guam; five daughters, Mrs. June Fisher, Des Moines; Mrs. Charlene Thompson, Abilene, Tex.; Mrs. Doris Doty, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Edith Windolf, Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. Virginia Holden of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, Rudolph Dickinson of Nevada and Frank Dickinson, 716 Wilson Ave.; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Sawyer, Jewell, Mrs. Francis Adams, Carlsbad, N.M., and Mrs. Kay Eason of Concord, Calif.; as well as 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orin and K. A. Dickinson, and two sisters, Katie and Margaret Dickinson. Pallbearers were Lyle Dickinson, Edward Dickinson, LaVerne Dickinson, Hans Dickinson, Arlin Dickinson and Owen Sampson.
