Floyd Minor Lundberg, a grandson of Mrs. Anna Lundberg, was born in Boone County, Iowa, February 3rd, 1900, and passed away at Montgomery, Iowa, February 3rd, 1914 at an age of 14 years. He is mourned by father and one brother. The Lord comfort them. The funeral service was held in South Marion church, February 7th. The sermon for the occasion was based upon the words in Genesis 22:8, "So they went both of them together." Together in life, together in sickness, together in death, they went both of them together to the grave. The interment took place in South Marion graveyard. ****************************** Spirit Lake Beacon February 5, 1914 Two Deaths in Lundberg Family Two deaths occurred in the John Lundberg family southwest of Montgomery during Monday night, Feb. 2, 1914. Mrs. Anna Lundberg, mother of John Lundberg, who has been making her home with him, passed away at about 7:30 o'clock Monday evening, aged 74 years, 5 months, 6 days. Floyd Lundberg, a son, passed away at 1:45 Tuesday morning, aged 14 years. Floyd had been afflicted for some months and had been at Rochester for medical aid but found no benefit could be received. The remains will be shipped to Stratford, Hamilton County, Iowa, on Friday for burial. ****************************** Webster City Journal February 12, 1914 It surely seems as though our old neighbors and friends, the John Lundberg family, are having more than their share of sorrow. Mr. Lundberg's aged mother had only just passed away when his oldest son, Floyd, took a hemorrhage of some kind and died in a few hours. Grandma Lundberg had taken care of Floyd and his brother, Carl, since the death of their hother some 9 or 10 years ago and was the only mother the boys knew. She was 75 years old and Floyd was 14. Two years ago they moved to a farm near Montgomery. The bodies were shipped back here for burial in the South Marion cemetery. The double funeral was held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the M.E. church, Rev. Nels Pearson preached from the text "And they went both of them to them together," Genesis 22-6. The relatives have the sincere sympathy of a host of friends.
