Description	:	Audrey Mae Reeve, eldest daughter of Harvey and Charlotte (Rausher) Williams, was born August 9, 1906, at Cadams, Nebraska. At the age of 6 months the family moved to the Nelson area where she lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1924 and worked in the telephone office for several years. Read More	Audrey Mae Reeve, eldest daughter of Harvey and Charlotte (Rausher) Williams, was born August 9, 1906, at Cadams, Nebraska. At the age of 6 months the family moved to the Nelson area where she lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1924 and worked in the telephone office for several years. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln for one year and taught in a rural school near Edgar for two years. On September 7, 1929, she was united in marriage to Russell Wayne Reeve at the Methodist Parsonage in Superior. They lived on a farm one mile east of Nelson for all their 60 years of married life. To this union was born five daughters: Shirley, Charlene, who died in infancy, Gwendolyn, Bonnie and Marceline. Audrey loved life, singing, flowers and the beautiful sunset she could see from her home. She was always willing to help others and give a word of encouragement to all who needed it. Audrey raised many flowers and enjoyed sharing them with friends and relatives. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Nelson for 63 years and then transferred her membership to the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. Audrey taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, belonged to United Methodist Women and other church groups and held various offices in these, she especially enjoyed the Bible Study groups. Audrey was a member of Fairview Extension Club and held various offices in this club. In 1924 she sang on the station KFEQ in Oak for devotional service. Audrey enjoyed the numerous trips she and Russell took to visit family and also sightseeing trips. They had traveled to 45 states. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, an infant brother and sister, and infant twin great grandsons. She is survived by her husband Russell; four daughters and sons-in-laws, Mrs. Durward (Shirley) Reeves of Norton, Massachusetts, Mrs. Leo (Gwendolyn) Tracy of Erie, Colorado, Mrs. Floyd (Bonnie) Vest of Greenwood, Nebraska and Mrs. Moyn (Marceline) Keim of Davenport, Nebraska; grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Williams of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Clem Reeve of Nelson, Nebraska; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Reeve of Aurora, Nebraska; and a host of relatives and friends. Audrey was ready and waiting to meet her Lord and Saviour on February 15, 1990. Funeral services were held Monday, February 19, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ of Nelson, Nebraska, with Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Music was provided by soloist Debi Garrison singing selections of "In The Garden" and "I Would Be True." "How Great Thou Art" was sung by the congregation as a prelude. Myrtle Worley was organist and accompanist. A taped hym of "Where've You Been" was played as a special tribute to show the feelings of the family. Angie Keim, granddaughter, read a tribute to her grandmother. Casketbearers were grandsons, Douglas, Chris and Kevin Reeves, Michael and Jeffrey Tracy, Rick, Randy and Gregory Vest and Landon Keim. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne McClure, Ivan Troudt, Guy Bruce, Wilbur Wilson, Kenneth Hamel and Allen Kruse. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery near Nelson, Nebraska.
