The death of Mrs. Cecil Hunter, last week, while not unexpected, since she had been in failing health for a number of years, was nevertheless a distinct shock to her family and friends. The death of Mrs. Cecil Hunter, last week, while not unexpected, since she had been in failing health for a number of years, was nevertheless a distinct shock to her family and friends. Mrs. Hunter was a woman of lovable character, loved for her worth by all who knew her. Every effort was made to counteract the inroads of the disease from which she suffered, but to no avail, and thru it all she bore up bravely and cheerfully, never letting despondency sour her. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter with their family moved to town a couple of years ago in the hope that cessation from the activities of the farm would prove beneficial and for a time some improvement was noted, but it was not lasting. Her decease is mourned by a large circle of sorrowing friends. Cecil J. Hoglan, the only daughter of Samuel and Lucy Hoglan, was born near Greens Grove December 27, 1883. On December 23, 1903, she was united in marriage with Earl N. Hunter and to this union were born four children, Beryl, Grace, Dean, and Raymond. She spent all her life in the vicinity of Greens Grove and Center Point, and for many years had been a sufferer from the lingering illness which claimed its victim. March 30, 1927, her sojourn in this life was 43 years, 3 months, and 3 days when the end came. During her illness she met it with a smile and seemed to make life as pleasant as possible for those about her. She leaves her father and mother, a loving husband, three sons and one daughter. She had one brother who preceded her in death a few years ago. She was a member of the Christian church and of the Pythian Sisters Temple No. 141 of Center Point. Not only the relatives, but a host of friends mourn her departure. The funeral was held from the Christian church Friday afternoon, Elders Sarchett and Wilson officiating. Interment was made in the Baptist cemetery in Greens Grove.
