February 26, 1996 - Forsyth County, North Carolina - Obituary in Winston Salem Journal: ELKIN - Mrs. Cora Frances Reece Stanley, age 87, widow of the late John Alvin Stanley, died Sunday morning, February 25, 1996, at the Guardian Care Nursing Center in Elkin. Mrs. Stanley was born September 10, 1908 in Surry County to the late George Washington and Nina Mae Reece. She was a housekeeper and a member of New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Stanley Barnes of Elkin, Mrs. Helen Stanley Pratt of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mrs. Nellie Stanley Hemric of Jonesville, North Carolina. six sons, Junior Stanley, Spencer Stanley, Clyde Stanley, Jack Stanley, Dennis Stanley and Bobby Dale Stanley all of Rt. 1 Elkin; 26 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Margie Norman of Mount Airy and one brother, Mr. Claude Reece of Mount Airy. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Stanley was preceeded in death by a daughter, Carrie Mae Scott. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 1996 at 2 pm at the Moody Funeral Chapel in Dobson, North Carolina conducted by the Reverend H. O. Jenkins and Reverend Othel Haynes with burial to follow in the New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night 7 to 9pm at the Moody Funeral Home in Dobson, North Carolina. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund.
