Description	:	Donald E. Wilson, 75, of West Terre Haute, died at 6 am February 17, 2016 in his residence. He was born June 14, 1940 in Clinton to John L. Wilson and Congetta Giliberto Wilson. He was a member of the former New Goshen Masonic Lodge and the Teamsters Local #710. He was a driver for UPS and retired after 27 years. Read More	Donald E. Wilson, 75, of West Terre Haute, died at 6 am February 17, 2016 in his residence. He was born June 14, 1940 in Clinton to John L. Wilson and Congetta Giliberto Wilson. He was a member of the former New Goshen Masonic Lodge and the Teamsters Local #710. He was a driver for UPS and retired after 27 years. Upon graduation from high school, Don signed a baseball contract with the Philadelphia Phillies Minor League organization. He was a pitcher for the minor league team from 1958 to 1963. Once back home in Indiana, he continued to play baseball for the Blanford Cardinals. He pitched for the Cardinals until 1974. It was with this local team he formed lifelong friendships with former teammates. Don’s love of baseball never ended. Sports and competition were very important to Don. After his baseball career was over, he found the game of golf. Many days after delivering packages for UPS, he would stop at Rae Park for a quick nine holes. It was on the golf course Don, made many new and loyal friends. Don was always willing to help friends and family. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren. When not with his family, he enjoyed his golf and playing cards with his friends He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; and son, Wade. He is survived by two sons, Steven Wilson of Terre Haute and William Wilson of Indianapolis; one daughter, Patricia Wilson of Terre Haute; two grandsons, Isac Wilson of Terre Haute and Peter Wilson of CA; one brother, Virgil Andrews of West Terre Haute. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11-2 at Frist Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2 with Reverend Allen Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Special thanks to his hospice nurse, Kathy and Hospice of Wabash Valley. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shultz Lewis Children’s Home in Valparaiso, IN or Prostate Cancer Foundation.
