Surviving are his wife, Erma; a daughter, Mrs. Vic Scherzinger of Nelson; a son, Louis, at home; one brother, Frank Worden of Superior; and two sisters, Mrs. Loren Bishop of Lufkin, Tex., and Miss Crystal Worden of Hastings. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday at the Denny funeral home in Superior, the Rev. Ervin Unvert officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery (sic) there. ====================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, December 21, 1950 Dorsey Horatio Worden was born April 1, 1887, in the pioneer farm home of his parents, Amariah and Ella Worden, four and one-half miles northwst of Superior, and departed this life in Brodstone Memorial hospital (sic) in Superior on Wednesday, December 13, 1950, at the age of 63 years, 8 months and 13 days. Two brothers, Alfred and George, and two sisters, Mable and Bernice, preceded him in death, as did his mother on January 17, 1907, and his father in October, 1926. As a young man of nineteen years Mr. Worden moved to a farm four and a half miles east of Superior and began a life which was to gain for him a place of prominence among farmers and stockmen of this area. This has been the Worden home continuously since that time. He was united in marriage at Superior on March 27, 1914, to Erma Josephine Goodhue. To them two children, Genevieve and Louis, were born. Few men have had a more genuine and untiring interest in those things associated with farm life than has Mr. Worden. His farming and livestock practices have become a guide to many. He was the first to successfully utilize irrigation from the Republican river (sic) in this section of the state, and at the time of his death he was a director and vice president of the Bostwick Irrigation District in Nebraska. He was actively engaged with these interests until halted by a sudden illness but twelve days before his untimely passing. He became a member of the Methodist church of Superior as a young man. He was a director of the Valley Home school district for twenty-two years. Mr. Worden was a devoted husband and father. No finer praise could come to any man than to have, as he did, the admiration and respect of the many who knew him. By all standards, Mr. Worden was a genuinely good man. He leaves his wife, Erma; a daughter, Mrs. Vic Scherzinger of Nelson; a son, Louis, at home; one brother, Frank, of Superior; and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Bishop of Lufkin, Texas, and Miss Chrystal (sic) Worden of Hastings. Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Friday, December 15, at the Denny funeral home in Superior, with the Rev. Ervin Unvert, pastor of the Methodist church of Superior officiating. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery (sic) in Superior.
