Daughter, Gina Lynn Campbell of Bridgewater. Brothers, Allen L. Campbell of Amherst, Julian L. Campbell of Rileyville & Thomas S. Campbell of Madison. After graduation from Luray High School, he joined the United States Marine Corp on Oct. 28, 1966. After receiving an honorable discharge on Oct. 27, 1970 he returned to Page Co. and became a deputy with the Page Co. Sheriff's Dept. His dream was to become a Virginia State Gave Warden. On July 14, 1972, he was commissioned as a Game Warden and his dream came true. On Oct. 19, 1979, Dwight was shot in the line of duty and received disabling injuries by a poacher. His dream had ended. He retired with disability. In March 1991, Dwight received a liver transplant and began a new life. In July 1991, Dwight became a member of the Luray Christian Church and served on various committees. In 1994, Dwight lost his leg as a result from his gunshot wounds. On Aug. 21, 1997, Dwight married Barbara Jean Leake, who survives. He loved flowers and gardening, wildlife and nature. He was a wonder craftsman and wrote heartfeld poetry. Just prior to his death on April 15, 1998, their marriage vows were renewed by his wife in the presence of his brother, Julia, his mother, his stepdaughter and his very closest friends. Dwight is also survived by his daughter, Gina Lynn Campbell of Bridgewater; his stepdaughter Lindi M. Harbinson of Gordonsville. Pallbearers were Virginia State Game Wardens. He was honored by the State Game Commission Honor Guard. He was honored with a 21-gun salute in recognition of his service and sacrifice for the State of Virginia and his country. The Honor Guard presented the American Flag and the Virginia State Flag. Honorary pallbearers were Timmy Williams, Butch Fleharty, Ronnie Nealis, Richard Burke, Steve Furman and Bubba Gochenour. He was laid to rest in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery
