Description	:	E.R. Fields, 80, a resident of Albion for the last 20 years, died at 6:15 p.m. Friday at the Evangelical hospital. Death was due to a heart condition. He had been in failing health for a year. Edward Ray Fields was born March 16, 1885 at Liscomb where his parents, Bartholomew and Mary Setter, operated a hotel. Later the family lived at Conrad. As a young man he went to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to work and there married Miss Ethel Ellis on Jan. 19, 1910. They farmed for 10 years near Sioux Falls, coming to Marshall county in 1925... As a young man he went to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to work and there married Miss Ethel Ellis on Jan. 19, 1910. They farmed for 10 years near Sioux Falls, coming to Marshall county in 1925 where they farmed until they retired in 1945 and moved to Albion. He served as caretaker of the Albion cemetery for nine years until failing health caused him to retire. He was a member of the Albion Methodist Church. Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Gale Linsenmeyer of Albion, Mrs. Lloyd Bailey of State Center, and a son, Albert E. "Bud" Fields, Conrad. Also surviving are five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Alta Sellers, Marshalltown, and two brothers, Harley and Jay Fields at Saskatoon, Sask. Canada. A brother and sister preceded him in death. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Albion Methodist Church with Rev. Leonard Baldwin in charge. Burial was in the Albion cemetery. Estel Perrin funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
