Read More	Horton Farmer Killed by Fall From Tree Edwin Ihde Died Saturday From Skull Fracture Received in Accident Wednesday. Edwin Ihde, 30, farmer living 3 1/2 miles north of Horton received a basal fracture of the skull Wednesday of last week, apparently in a fall from a tree. He was taken to the Mercy Hospital in Waverly, where he hovered near death for several days. He died early Saturday. His unconscious body was found Wednesday afternoon by his wife at the foot of a tree on his property. Ihde had previously been trimming tree tops. It is believe a limb broke, sending him to the ground period. When found he had been lying helpless for several hours, physicians stated. There was hemorrhage from nose and ears, but was little other evidence of serious injury, his physicians said. Ihde face had a few minor lacerations, believed to be received in the fall, but the skin at the point where the skull is fractured, is not broken. Ihde was found after his wife became alarmed after he did not return as expected. He operated the farm in partnership with his brother. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Horton Church, with Rev. Clarence Sharer officiating, with burial at Horton. Mr. Ihde was born April 15, 1901, at Monona, Iowa. He is survived by his widow, his mother, Mrs. Louisa Ihde, Shell Rock; 4 daughters, Marian, Marjorie, Margaret and Gladys; a brother Marvin; and 3 half sisters.
