Description	:	Elda Anna Heitmann was born on June 25, 1921, to Theodore and Anna Mueller Holtzen at Davenport and died in Lincoln on Aug. 5, 1990, at the age of 69 years. She was baptized July 10, 1921, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of rural Kiowa. She attended parochial school at Kiowa and was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Kiowa on June 2, 1935, by Pastor O.E. Reimnitz. She was married to Orvil F. Heitmann on April 29, 1945. She attended parochial school at Kiowa and was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Kiowa on June 2, 1935, by Pastor O.E. Reimnitz. She was married to Orvil F. Heitmann on April 29, 1945. To this union five children were born. She and her husband lived on a farm between Byron and Chester all their married life. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, St. John Ladies Aid and a charter member of the Byron Woman's Club. She was also on the Byron Precinct election board for a number of years. Elda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Orvil; one daughter, Carol and husband Robert of Lincoln; four sons, Dennis of Lincoln, Doyle and his wife Linda and sons Darren, Jeremy, Corey and Blake of Byron, Marlyn of Byron and Randy and his wife Kathy and their children, Suzanne, Amber and Brant of Cambridge; three brothers, Norman of Davenport, Harold and wife Lenora of Deshler and Elmer and wife Lenora of Deshler; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Services were held at St. John Lutheran church (sic) in Chester at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, conducted by Pastors Dave Loeschen and Kris Rebentisch. Betty Poppe was the organist with special music by Don Wassom and Eleanor Mussmann. Casket bearers were nephews Steve Holtzen, Rodney Holtzen, Dale Holtzen, Maurice Kniep, Kim Eggers and Mark Eggers. Honorary casket bearers were her seven grandchildren. Interment was in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery at Chester with Hacker Funeral Home of Hebron in charge of arrangements.
