Read More	Mrs. Lander Dies Monday At Age Of 81 Mrs. Emma C. Lander, 81, of 410 Jerome St., died at the Evangelical Hospital Monday evening where she had been a patient since Thursday. She had been in her usual health until being hospitalized. Born Emma C. Johnson, Dec. 6 1886, in Smoland, Sweden, she was the daughter of Lars and Maria Johannson Johnson. When she was young the family came to the United State coming directly to Marshall County and settling in the Minerva community where she received her education in the rural schools. On Feb. 1913, 1913, at LaMoille she was married to Joseph N. Lander and they had always farmed in the Hartland community until moving to Marshalltown in 1948. Mrs Lander was baptized in the Wesley Chapel church and in later years attended the Hartland church. She was a member of the Marshalltown Woman's Club, the Marietta Community Club and the Hartland Missionary Society. Proceeding her in death were four sisters and a brother. Surviving are the widower, four children, Howard Lander, Mrs. Ben (Irene) Packer and Mrs. Elmer (Helen) Geocke, all Route 3; and Mrs. Rodney (Dorthy) Freiboth of Route 2. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Benny Noid of Marshalltown, a brother, Fred W. Johnson of LaMoille, several nieces and nephews. Services will be from the chapel of Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. L. T. Proctor, pastor of the Hartland church, in charge. Burial will be in the Marietta Cemetery.
