Description	:	Esther Dorothea Spring was born to Ernst and Anna (Grummert) Schiermeyer on June 19, 1915, on a farm north of Superior Nebraska. In 1937, after two years of teaching school, she married Martin Spring. They eventually settled with their family in Superior, where they became faithful members of Centennial Lutheran Church. Esther taught Sunday School and was a very active member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. In addition to raising her family, she enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking and baking, needlework and quilting, and when there was time, reading. Read More	Esther Dorothea Spring was born to Ernst and Anna (Grummert) Schiermeyer on June 19, 1915, on a farm north of Superior Nebraska. In 1937, after two years of teaching school, she married Martin Spring. They eventually settled with their family in Superior, where they became faithful members of Centennial Lutheran Church. Esther taught Sunday School and was a very active member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. In addition to raising her family, she enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking and baking, needlework and quilting, and when there was time, reading. When her family was grown, she frequently did volunteer work. She died on December 19, 2006. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Martin; one daughter, Deborah Drake; and five brothers and sisters, Bertha Schiermeyer, Alvina Larsen, John Schiermeyer, Erwin Schiermeyer, and Elaine Carley. She is survived by four daughters, Margaret Coffman and Mrs. John (Ruth) Wright, Lincoln, NE; Mrs. Donald (Dianne) Burge, St. Peters, MO; and Dorothy Ray, Omaha, NE, ten grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 10:30 AM from the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Albrecht officiating. Music was congregational hymns, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Joy To The World" and a duet "How Great Thou Art" sung by Jill & Deb Drake with Heather Dahl as organist. Pallbearers were Jeffrey Ray, Scott Ray, Brian Ray, David Burge, Nicklaus Drake and T.C. Coffman. Interment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery rural Superior, Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
