Description	:	OBITUARY: Fred J. Dunekacke, son of Dietrich and Anna Burdorf Dunekacke, was born at Kuhlenkamp, Germany, June 3, 1909. He was one of eight children. He was baptied in infancy at the Lutheran Church at Asendorf, Germany by Pastor Tiemann and was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith atthis same church on Palm Sudnay, March 25, 1923, by Pastor Suaus. Fritz, as he was known by those close to him, attended school in Germany and after completing his schooling farmed for a few years in Germany. October 23, 1929 he came to America and settled in Nemaha County where he was to live the rest of his life. He joined St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnso and at the time of his passing had been a member for 35 years. On May 13, 1935 he became an American citizan. February 26, 1938 he was married to Julia Oestmann at the home of her parents. Six children were born to this marriage, with one son dying in infancy. All of their married life was spent on their farm in Nemaha County southeast of Johnson, Ne. Until 1956 Fritz farmed full time. From 1956 to 1969 he worked at the bin site for the ASC office and farmed. During the last year and a half of his employment with the ASC office he was bin site supervisor. In 1966 Fritz returned to Germany to see the other members of his family. In July of 1969 he suffered a stroke following surgery. Later Sunday afternoon, July 15, 1973, he died very suddenly at their farm home, He was 64 years, one month and twelve days of age. In addition to his infant son, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Julia, of Johnson; five children; David of Auburn, Jean of Lincoln, Paul of Holdrge, Lee of Rising City, and Mary Ann, who is attending the University in Lincoln; three daughters-in-law, Carol, Karen and Mary Lou; three grandchildren, Jeffery, Michael and Amy Jo Dunekacke; one brother, Frederick, of Germany, and one brother, William, of Johnson; other relatives, and many many friends. Pallbearers were James and Steve Hahn, Larry Bohlken, Duey Oestmann, Brad Knippelmeir, and Alfred Dunekacke.
