The Modesto Bee (Modesto, CA) - 25 Nov 1933 Frederick Flinn, 74, Dies At Los Banos Frederick Flinn, 74, father of Eral Flinn and Mrs. Ethel Stevens of Modesto, died at the home of a daughter in Los Banos Friday. He had been ill about a week. Besides his two children here, Flinn leaves two sons and two daughters, Loren Flinn of Bakersfield, Mrs. Ed Bambauer of Los Banos, John B. Flinn of Santa Cruz and Mrs. D. McDougall of Los Banos. Funeral services will be held in Santa Cruz Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Santa Cruz Sentinel (Santa Cruz, California) - 26 Nov 1933 Funeral Monday for Fred Flinn Funeral services for Fred Flinn, who died Friday at Los Banos, will be held here Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the First Presbyterian church. Mr. Flinn was a resident here for a number of years and was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Interment will be at the Oakwood cemetery. The body is at the C. C. Chase Mortuary. Mr. Flinn came to Santa Cruz 20 years ago from Minnesota. For some years he operated a poultry farm in the Live Oak district. His wife passed away in April, 1931, and for some time Mr. Flinn has made his home with his son, John B. Flinn, at 84 Peyton street, but frequently took trips to be with his other children at their homes. Mr. Flinn was an upright citizen known for his high ideals, his honesty and integrity. Surviving him are six children, John B. Flinn of 84 Peyton street, Ethel Stevens of Modesto, Earl Flinn of Modesto, Lola McDougall of Los Banos, Luva Bambauer and Lawrence Flinn of Bakersfield. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. Warren More, pastor emeritus of the church. Rev. C. Warren Van Camp assisted Dr. More. The hymns. "Rock of Ages" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" were sung by Harry Murray. The interment was at the Oakwood cemetery. * The current manager is in possession of a small scrapbook of 18 photographs likely sent to her 2nd great-grandparents, George Henry Flinn (brother of Frederick) and Helene Severtsdatter (sister of Mathea "Mattie"). The inside cover says, "1924 Merry Xmas & Happy New Year California Snap Shots" -- most are well labeled -- very willing to share with interested family members! *
