George Henry Daly was born May 31, 1929 in a log cabin south of Philip the oldest of
four children born to Maurice and Ethel (Brady) Daly. George spent his school years
in Philip and ranched with his parents for two years. In 1946 he joined the Navy and
was proud to serve in the submarine division until 1950.
In December of 1950, George married Marge Koch and to this union were born five
children; Patricia, Michaela, Morris, Jodene and Bridget. In 1954, George and his

George Henry Daly was born May 31, 1929 in a log cabin south of Philip the oldest of
four children born to Maurice and Ethel (Brady) Daly. George spent his school years
in Philip and ranched with his parents for two years. In 1946 he joined the Navy and
was proud to serve in the submarine division until 1950.
In December of 1950, George married Marge Koch and to this union were born five
children; Patricia, Michaela, Morris, Jodene and Bridget. In 1954, George and his
young family moved to San Luis Obispo, California, where he attended Cal Polly
College Veterinary School. In1955, George and his family moved to Seattle where he
worked on the waterfront until he retired in 1991.
George spent his summers in Midland, visiting with family and friends and his
winters in Desert Hot Springs California dancing with the West Coast Swing Club. As
his failing health prevented him from traveling, he stayed in Midland with his son
Morris at his side.
He loved rodeos, dancing, his family and friends, and always loved to tell stories.
George was an active member of the Veterans Association, the Democratic Party, and
the Retired Longshoreman's Union.
Survivors include one son Morris Henry Daly of Midland; three daughters Patricia
"Patsy" Bayala and her husband Michael of Dutton, Montana, Michaela Oleson and her
husband Ron of Milton Freewater, Oregon, and Bridget Hopkins of Milton Freewater;
ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother Michael "Micky" Daly of
Midland; and a host of other relatives and friends.
George was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Jodene Daly Bayala; one
brother Paul Daly; and one sister Doris Daly Blanusa.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Masonic Cemetery
in Philip, with Father Ron Garry officiating.
A luncheon will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church directly following the
services.
A memorial is established.
