Sherbon, eldest son of Matthew and Mary Sherbon, was born July 8th, 1856 at Lafayette county, Wisconsin, and departed this life at his home in Covert township, Oct. 21st, 1925, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 13 days. In the year of 1879, George moved with his parents to Osborne county, Kansas, having made this his home ever since. Early in life he acknowledged his faith in Christ and united with the Baptist church at Grand Centre, holding his membership to the present time. He leaves to mourn his departure six sisters... He leaves to mourn his departure six sisters and one brother, as follows: Mary Lusk of Iowa, Nellie Sherbon of California, Nettie Sherbon of Covert, Kans., Pearl Garrison of Oak Mills, Kans., Belle Garrison of Osborne, Kans., Mary James of Covert, Kans. and J. M. Sherbon of Covert, Kans., all of who were present except Miss Nellie Sherbon of California and Mrs. Mary Lusk of Iowa. Funeral Service were held in the Grand Centre Baptist church, in charge of Rev. Roy Leaman. Interment was made on the family lot in the Grand Centre cemetery. The Waldo Advocate, October 26, 1925
