Description	:	Hattie May Currier Young, daughter of Russell G. and Lucy Deborah Currier, was born December 5, 1871, at Winterset, Iowa. She passed to rest on July 6, 1953, at the home of a daughter in Republican City, Nebr., at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 1 day. Hattie May came to the Chester community at the age of 18 where she worked until her marriage. She was married to Isaac Victor Young in Belleville, Kans., on February 22, 1898. Read More	Hattie May Currier Young, daughter of Russell G. and Lucy Deborah Currier, was born December 5, 1871, at Winterset, Iowa. She passed to rest on July 6, 1953, at the home of a daughter in Republican City, Nebr., at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 1 day. Hattie May came to the Chester community at the age of 18 where she worked until her marriage. She was married to Isaac Victor Young in Belleville, Kans., on February 22, 1898. To this union five children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Young have lived continuously since their marriage on the same farm south of Chester, Nebraska, in Republic County, Ks. This past February they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter in Republican City, Nebr., with four generations present. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Mrs. Goldie Billing, four brothers and a sister. She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, I.V. Young of Republican (sic) County, Kans.; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Sims of Republican City, Nebr., and Mrs. Lucy Rebecca Holland of San Diego, Calif.; two sons, C. Willard Young of Wichita, Kans., and Howard Young of the home; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Mrs. Young was the first candidate to the Rebekah Lodge of Chester after its founding in 1898. She was a faithful member of the Christian Church of Chester until the end of her life. Funeral services were held from the Christian Church at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 9, with Rev. Geo. Randall in charge. Burial was in the Chester Cemetery on Friday morning. Those from out-of-town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jennings and family of Stockton, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. Lesley Lovenburg and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Sims of Republican City; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Sims and daughter of Omaha; Gerald Sims of Long Beach, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Young and family of Wichita, Kans.; Mrs. Ray Young, Hugh Young of Superior; and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Young of Hubbell.
