Description	:	Ida Anna Schleif, daughter of William and Wilhelmina Schiermeyer, was born in Daykin, Nebraska, May 26, 1898, and died in Lincoln, Nebraska, August 20, 1982. Ida was baptized into the Lutheran faith and was confirmed on March 31, 1912. February 15, 1927, she was united in marriage to Henry Schleif at Salem Lutheran Church. Most of her life was spent in the Nelson community. After the death of her husband, she moved to Hebron and later to Lincoln, where she spent the last ten years of her life. Read More	Ida Anna Schleif, daughter of William and Wilhelmina Schiermeyer, was born in Daykin, Nebraska, May 26, 1898, and died in Lincoln, Nebraska, August 20, 1982. Ida was baptized into the Lutheran faith and was confirmed on March 31, 1912. February 15, 1927, she was united in marriage to Henry Schleif at Salem Lutheran Church. Most of her life was spent in the Nelson community. After the death of her husband, she moved to Hebron and later to Lincoln, where she spent the last ten years of her life. While living in Nelson, she was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church and belonged to Circle I for twenty-five years. She joined Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Lincoln in 1972, where she was a member of Yesterday's Youth. Ida was a devoted wife and mother and her life revolved around her home and family. Quilting, needlework and piano Playing (sic) were other interests in her life. She also enjoyed her garden where she spent many happy hours tending her flowers. Preceding her in death were her husband, Henry; son, Marvin; one sister, Louise; and two brothers, Herman and William. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Juanita) VanLiew, Mrs. John (Lorena) Overing and Mrs. William (Aletha) Biggs, all of Lincoln; one son, Lindell of Fairbury; her daughter-in-law, Rose Schleif of Lincoln; three brothers, Fred of Nelson, Ernest and Melvin of Superior; four sisters, Mary of Burlington, Iowa, Minnie of Nelson, Hilda of Morgan Hill, California and Meta of Oregon, Illinois; and eleven grandchildren.
