Description	:	Ida Louise Palmquist Hart, the third daughter of Bert and Emma (Moline) Palmquist, was born January 5, 1932, in Stanton, Iowa. She passed away at Accura Healthcare of Stanton on March 3, 2018, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 26 days. Louise was raised on the family farm, north of Stanton. Read More	Ida Louise Palmquist Hart, the third daughter of Bert and Emma (Moline) Palmquist, was born January 5, 1932, in Stanton, Iowa. She passed away at Accura Healthcare of Stanton on March 3, 2018, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 26 days. Louise was raised on the family farm, north of Stanton. She attended rural Burke School for grades 1-8 and finished her high school career as a 1949 graduate of Red Oak High School. As a girl, she especially loved horses, a passion that would follow her through her adult life. It was as a young girl that she began taking piano lessons, which led to her amazing talent for playing the piano, organ, marimba, playing songs by memory, and transposing music to different keys in her head. After high school graduation, she attended Red Oak Junior College for a year. It was then that she fulfilled a childhood dream by attending Swedish Covenant Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, graduating with an RN degree in l953. On February 11, 1956, Louise married Allen Hart in Stanton, Iowa, and they recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary. They farmed in the Essex and Stanton areas. Louise worked at Murphy Memorial Hospital (now MCMH) as director of nurses, later transferring to the OB department, was plant nurse at the Union Carbide plant, and worked various other places. In 1978, Louise and Allen opened the Stanton Care Center, a facility they built and ran until its sale in 1993. Music has been an integral part of her life. At age 13, she served as church pianist, thus beginning a career of playing for church services at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stanton as well as many other churches, weddings, funerals, school contests and concerts, the Four Sons Quartet, and for family and friends. For many years, Louise has given free piano lessons to dozens of children, passing on her love of music. Her faith has played a major role in her life. She was a member of Faith Community Church, where she was church pianist for many years, coordinated food for funerals, assisted with youth groups, Sunday School, Awana, and helping children go to Bible Camp. Louise enjoyed cooking, hospitality, sewing, quilting, horses and caring for farm animals. She was surprised and thrilled to receive Stanton’s Ole award two years ago. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances Berglund and husband Clarence; brothers-in-law: Darrel Davis, Bob Cerven, Marvin Hart and wife Aletha, Kenneth Hart and Milton Hart; sisters-in-law: Pat Hart and Myrtle Cerven and husband Don. Louise is survived by her husband Allen Hart; children: Karol Johnson and husband Richard, David Hart and wife Cathy, and Rodney Hart and wife Janean, all of Stanton, IA; as well as 7 grandchildren: Chris Johnson and Casey Broyles of Stanton, IA, Brenda Steenhoek of North Liberty, IA, Kent Johnson and wife Amber of Winterset, IA, Jason Hart and wife Katie of Stanton, IA, Ryan Hart and wife Stacy of Stanton, IA, Brianne Barghusen and husband John of Spirit Lake, IA, and Jenna Ramsey and husband Kyle of Stanton, IA; Louise has 13 great-grandchildren: Denton Roberts, Charlie and Kara Steenhoek; Brady, Drake, Carter and Marleigh Johnson; Kyla, Brett and Brody Hart; Peyton Hart, and Madison and Reed Ramsey. She is also survived by sisters, Bernice Cerven of Stanton, IA, Carolyn Davis of Elliott, IA, and Kathryn Lass and husband Paul of Des Moines, IA; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. At Faith Community Church, Red Oak, Iowa Pastor David MacDonald, Officiating Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Mission Covenant Cemetery, rural Stanton, Iowa Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Memorials to the Faith Community Church, Stanton Fire & Rescue Department.
