He came to the U.S.A. in the year 1868, (error: 1869/JP) and settled in Shelby county in 1870, where he had resided ever since. Mrs. Brodersen preceded him in death 14 years ago, since which time he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Louis Christensen of this city. He came to the U.S.A. in the year 1868, (error: 1869/JP) and settled in Shelby county in 1870, where he had resided ever since. Mrs. Brodersen preceded him in death 14 years ago, since which time he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Louis Christensen of this city. His six children are all living in Shelby county and are: Hans Brodersen, Mrs. Hans Boysen, Chris Brodersen, Peter Brodersen, Mrs. Louis Christensen, Chas. Brodersen. He had 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister. The funeral sevice was held at the home of Mrs. Louis Christensen Friday, Dec 5, in charge of Rev. C.M. Videbeck, the Lutheran pastor. A double quartette rendered the singing at the family's request. Mr. Brodersen possessed some of the sterling qualities that go to make a good father and a worthy citizen. He lived a secluded life in communion with God in earnestness and sincerity. The Immanuel Lutheran church is especially grateful to him for the beautiful bell, of which he was the donor, and his memory shall live among us as long as the bell shall proclaim the Sabbath day for the belfry.
