John Zemanek, present pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. James Albert Hildreth, the oldest son of John W. and Olive G. Hildreth, was born Dec. 14, 1867 at Troy Mills, Iowa. His early boyhood was spent in that area. At the age of 16, he came with his parents to Nebraska in a covered wagon. He lived practically all his life in Knox County, except for a few years in Antelope County. On April 6, 1896 he was united in marriage to Carrie M. French of Allen. To this union seven children were born. One son, Ivan P. Hildreth, died in 1936. The other suviving children are the four daughters, Mrs. Otto (Margery) Meyer of Milaca, Minn., Mrs. Orville (Hazel) Clare of Milaca, Minn., Mrs. Roy (Jessie) Morrill of Creighton and Mrs. Russell (Bessie) Haag of Dalbo, Minn.; two sons, Allen Hildreth of Orchard and James A. Hildreth of Palisade, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one brother, John W. Hildreth of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Hildreth moved to Creighton in September, 1953, where he lived until his death. He joined the Methodist Church here on Easter Sunday, 1954. On Dec. 22, 1957, Mr. and Mrs. Hildreth moved to the Creighton Rest Home. He was taken to the hospital, when he fell and fractured his hip on his 91st birthday, Dec. 14.
