He was among the earliest settlers, having moved to Nebraska and settled near Oak now is in 1873. He was born in Cecil county (sic), Maryland, and at the time of his death was 80 years, 8 months and 14 days old. He was married on January 3d (sic), 1856, to Susan E. Thomas. Four children were born to this union: Ida La Bounty of Kansas, John L. and William T. Donahoo, and Carrie Strode, all of whom are living to mourn hts (sic) loss, except Will. He leaves also a sister, Mrs. A.D. Stark, of Holdrege. The funeral was held yesterday from the U.B. church (sic) north of Nelson, the Rev. Gollaher of Angus, officiating, interment being mand (sic) in the Nelson cemetery (sic). A large concourse of friends gathered to pay their last respects to this old rnd (sic) honored citizen.
