Description	:	Johannes Anderson was a native of Lilla Harstad, Sweden, he was the son of Anders and Anna Jonsson Nielson. He had no formal schooling but apprenticed as a shoemaker. He joined the LDS Church in 1852. On October 25, 1854, he married Kjersti Nielson who was born April 14, 1831, to Hans and Gunilla Tosta Nielson. He joined the LDS Church in 1852. On October 25, 1854, he married Kjersti Nielson who was born April 14, 1831, to Hans and Gunilla Tosta Nielson. Two children, who died in infancy, were born to them before Kjersti died on August 29, 1858. On February 24, 1860, Johannes married Cecelia Nielson, the sister of Kjersti. She was born August 10, 1835, at Belleberga, Malmo, Sweden. They came to America in 1865. Their two small sons died during the voyage, and another newborn son died before they reached Salt Lake Valley. They settled first in Farmington, Utah, and came to Millville in 1868. Johannes was known for his great energy and ambition. He became proficient at raising new varieties of fruits and vegetables. Following the council of Church leaders, Johannes married Karna (Caroline) Anderson as a plural wife on June 23, 1869. She was born April 5, 1845, at Odarslof, Sweden, the daughter of Hans and Kama Nilsson Anderson. He married again on January 4, 1874, to Hanna Anderson, the daughter of Hans and Bengta Carlson Anderson. She was born at Ostra Odarslov, Sweden, on September 18, 1858. In 1887, he was called by President John Taylor to colonize in Canada. Leaving Cecelia and Caroline and their families in Millville, Johannes took his wife, Hanna, and her five children, their belongings and cattle; and they left for what is now Cardston, Alberta. They built a log home with a sod roof, and they lived there until another home could be built. Johannes tested trees and shrubs for the Horticultural Department at Ottawa to determine their adaptability to the West. The demand for his seed wheat was far greater than he could supply. Johannes was counselor to Bishop George O. Pitkin, and in Cardston he was counselor to Bishop Harmer and a member of the High Council. He was a firm believer in the power of prayer. His wife, Caroline, died December 23, 1896; and Cecelia died June 4, 1921. Both are buried in Millville Cemetery. Hanna died August 18, 1925, and is buried in Cardston. Children of Johannes and Kjersti Nielson were: Niels Jo and Anna. (both died in childhood). Children of Johannes and Cecelia Nielson were: Anders Jo, Niels Jo, Andreas (all died in infancy), Christina, John, Henry, Edward, George, Charles C. and Alma. Children of Johannes and Caroline Anderson were: Caroline Ellen, Hanna Agusta, Joseph Hammon, Parly Albert, Thomas Alpha, Orson Franklin, William Parks. Children of Johannes and Hanna Anderson were: Hannah Eliza, James Hyde, Samuel Oscar, Annie Betty, Mary Amanda, Moses Albert, Effie Jenette, Attena Kate and Spencer William.
