Description	:	Sioux City Man Takes Own Life John Charles Dardis Jr., 45, 2401 41st St., was found dead in the garage at his residence Friday morning. Dr. Thomas L. Coriden, Woodbury County medical examiner, ruled the death a suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. The doctor said that Mr. Dardis, who lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Dardis Sr., was found by his father. Mr. Dardis was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Des Moines. He had been a resident of Sioux City since 1944. He was graduated from Trinity High School in 1946. A was veteran, he served two separate stints in the Army, 1946-48 and 1950-51 and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Dardis was a horse trainer and racer and owned horses at various times. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church In Leeds and was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus. Survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Dardis Sr.; a sister, Mrs. Orma (Louise) Brown of Los Angeles; and eight aunts and uncles. The body is at Larkin’s Northside Funeral Home. The Sioux City Journal, November 17, 1983 ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Services for John Charles Dardis Jr., 45, 2401 41st St., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church. The Rev. Nicholas Ruba will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of the Larkin Northside Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Albert Anders, Maynard Bauerly, John Anderson, Bert Dreyer, Tom O’Brien and Don Wernes. The Rosary will be recited this evening at the funeral home at 7 o’clock by the parish, at 7:30 o’clock by the Knights of Columbus and at 8 o’clock by the Catholic Daughters of America.
