Description	:	Mr. Henley, who died Friday, was born in Endicott, Wash., and grew up in Hay, Wash. He graduated from Hay High School in 1939. He helped on the family farm until taking a job with Boeing Aircraft in the Seattle area during World War II. He married Aileen Stebler in 1944 and a short time later, the couple returned to the farm at Hay and spent most of their lives working the land. Read More	Mr. Henley, who died Friday, was born in Endicott, Wash., and grew up in Hay, Wash. He graduated from Hay High School in 1939. He helped on the family farm until taking a job with Boeing Aircraft in the Seattle area during World War II. He married Aileen Stebler in 1944 and a short time later, the couple returned to the farm at Hay and spent most of their lives working the land. They moved to Colfax three years ago and just recently moved back to LaCrosse. Mr. Henley spent many years as director of the Hay School Board, four years as commissioner for the Port of Whitman County and three terms as County Commissioner for Whitman County from 1978 to 1990. He also served on the hospital board and was an original board member of the Bank of Whitman. He was involved with the Hay Telephone Co., the Hay Baptist Church, Washington Cattlemen Association, and was a member of El Katif Shrine, Colfax Elks Lodge, and the Masons. He enjoyed boating, hunting, traveling, and water-skiing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hay Baptist Church or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
