Description	:	John Henry Hoover was born February 28, 1853 at Centerville, Pennsylvania. He was married to Susan J Geisler at Centerville on July 29, 1877. They resided at Somerset, Pennsylvania for three years. In 1880 they journeyed westward and settled at Montezuma, Iowa for one year then moved to Malcom, Iowa where they made their home. His wife, Susan J was... Read More	John Henry Hoover was born February 28, 1853 at Centerville, Pennsylvania. He was married to Susan J Geisler at Centerville on July 29, 1877. They resided at Somerset, Pennsylvania for three years. In 1880 they journeyed westward and settled at Montezuma, Iowa for one year then moved to Malcom, Iowa where they made their home. Three children were born to this union; Mildred, Clarence and Cecil. In 1901 their neice at the age of five years, her parents both having been called above, came to make her home with them. His wife, Susan J was called to the Great Beyond on October 15, 1915. He still resided at the old home, his niece keeping house for him until his death on January 4, 1929 at the age of 75 years 10 months 7 days. His children and neice present at the time of his death; Mr and Mrs C P Smith, Belle Plaine, Iowa; Clarence L Hoover of Los Angeles, California; Cecil W Hoover of Malcom, Iowa; Catherine Geisler of Malcom, Iowa and Henry Geisler of Moline, Illinois. Funeral Services were held at the home on Monday January 7 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev L R Burdock. Remains were laid to rest beside his wife in the Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom, Iowa. Relatives from out of town attending the funeral were Clarence of Los Angeles, California; Mr & Mrs C P Smith of Belle Plaine, Iowa; Kenneth Smith of Newton, Iowa and Henry Geisler of Moline, Illinois.
