Description	:	Joe Strube, 67, died Dec. 23 at Ellsworth County Medical Center, Ellsworth. Born Nov. 2, 1941, in Emporia, he was the son of Benjamin T. Strube and Thelma E. "Jacob" Strube. He married Iris Vestal Urban on Feb. 29, 1972, in St. John. She preceded him in death on Dec. 5, 1998. A lifetime resident of Claflin, he was the president of D.S.W. Well Service in Claflin. Mr. Strube was a member of the United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Lions Club and the Claflin Scholarship Board, all of Claflin, and A.O.S.C. He was also a seven-year member of the Kansas National Guard. Survivors include two sons, Mike Urban and wife Debbie and Mitch Urban and wife Brenda, all of Claflin; a daughter, Murine Prosser and husband Fred of Ellinwood; a brother, Arthur Strube and wife Donna of Claflin; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Urban, Wyatt Urban, Dakota Urban, Maggie Mae Urban, Marke Urban, Angel Urban, Stone Urban, Travis Prosser and Troy Prosser; and his best fried, Buff. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Robert Strube, and a sister, Coette Litzenberger. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Claflin with the Rev. Gene Langhofer officiating. Burial will be at the Claflin Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Claflin Ambulance Service, Ellsworth County Medical Center or the United Methodist Church in Claflin, all in care of the funeral home.
