Read More	Adams County Free Press December 8, 1977 Page 6 KENNETH L. McLAREN Kenneth LeRoy McLaren, son of James C. and Cora Erickson McLaren, was born September 24, 1920 at Massena, Iowa. He spent his entire life farming in Edna Township. He passed away December 3, 1977 at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He died at the age of 57 years, 2 months, 9 days. He attended rural schools and graduated from Cumberland High School in 1938. As an adult, Kenneth was actively involved in the Massena Baptist Church. On May 27, 1943, he was united in marriage to Louise Jensen at Massena. They moved to their present home where they spent their entire married life. To this union one daughter and three sons were born. Mr. McLaren was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Catherine; a brother, Don; and an infant grandson, Wade McLaren. Survivors include his wife Louise; one daughter, Carolyn Knee and her husband Dennis of Scotia, Nebraska; three sons, LeRoy and his wife, Lois of Indianola, Iowa; Douglas and his wife Linda of Griswold, Iowa; David and his wife Paula of Springfield, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, Denise, Janet, and Daniel Knee; Mike Greg, Andy Deric, Devin, and Anissa McLaren; 4 brothers, James of Cumberland, Jack, Robert, and Bruce of Massena; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Jensen of Urbana, Illinois; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Massena, December 5 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Butler, Rev. Lyle Ball, and Rev. Dennis LaFleur officiating. Interment was in the Victoria Center Cemetery. Music was provided by Pat Hensley, organist and Helen Bower and Judy Bower, vocalists. Flowerbearers were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vogel and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Swankey. Ushers were Glen Maas and Gerald Wollenhaupt. Pallbearers were Dan, James, Eric, and John McLaren, Gary Wilburn, and Mack Jensen. ------------------------------------------------ Kenneth McLaren was born to James and Cora McLaren on September 20, 1920. Louise was born to Anton and Louise Jensen on July 28, 1919. Kenneth became a farmer and Louise taught rural school. On May 27, 1943 Kenneth and Louise were married and began their married life in Edna Township on the Irvin Cormor place. They were the parents of four children. Carolyn and her husband, Dennis Knee; Leroy and his wife Lois; Douglas and his wife Linda; and David. Kenneth died on December 3, 1977. Louise died on January 20, 2015.
