Mr. Ganseveldt was the father of fifteen children, thirteen of whom survive him. His wife was Fanny Abbas and the couple was married at Kanawha on March 1, 1898. They had lived in the vicinity of Kanawha and Britt all the years. The wife survives. Children are Fred, William, George, in Chicago; Grace at Fort Dodge; Peter, Daniel, Mrs. Oscar Olson, John, Minnie, Jennie, Stafford, Claus Jr., and Nancy. There are three grandchildren. A brother, John Ganseveldt, in Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Hopp in Hessville, Indiana, survive. Mr. Ganseveldt was born in Wirdeem, Holland, Germany, October 1, 1874, and came with the family to America as a young lad. They settled at Chicago and Claus later came to this county. Funeral services were conducted from the home at 1:30 and from the Methodist church in Britt at 2 o'clock Monday. Rev. John Drake Wolcott in charge. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
