Description	:	Lawrence, the son of Robert Adam and Minnie Asher Eaton, was born in Pleasanton. After graduating from Pleasanton High School he attended Grand Island Business College for two years. It was during this time Lawrence learned to fly which was a hobby he enjoyed his entire life. Lawrence worked in the oil business, had an appliance store, served in Alaska in the Guard Force and FBI, and the Army during WWII. Read More	Lawrence, the son of Robert Adam and Minnie Asher Eaton, was born in Pleasanton. After graduating from Pleasanton High School he attended Grand Island Business College for two years. It was during this time Lawrence learned to fly which was a hobby he enjoyed his entire life. Lawrence worked in the oil business, had an appliance store, served in Alaska in the Guard Force and FBI, and the Army during WWII. Returning home, Lawrence was adjutant and then commandant of the Veterans Home in Grand Island for 20 years. He was largely responsible for the rebuilding of that institution. He also established the annex of the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk. He was past commander of the Grand Island American Legion post, past president of the National Association of Veterans Homes and a member of Pleasanton Post 321, 40 et 8, Silver wings fraternity, Lions Club, and Pleasanton United Methodist Church. After retiring to Pleasanton in l972, Lawrence worked in the bank and later served as village administrator. He is survived by his wife, LaVera; a son, Larry; two granchildren, Robert and Carol, of Minnesapolis, Minn., and a brother, Earl of Pleasanton. He was preceded in death by a son, Kent; a brother, William in 1918; and two sisters, Roberta Bell, of Lakewood, California and Isabel Phillips of Pleasanton.
