Description	:	Lawrence (Larry) Joseph Doud was born to George Thomas Doud and Josephine Cecelia Donohue Doud on November 25, 1913, at Geneva, and passed away April 21, 2002, at Heritage Crossings in Geneva, at the age of 88 years, four months and 26 days. Read More	Lawrence (Larry) Joseph Doud was born to George Thomas Doud and Josephine Cecelia Donohue Doud on November 25, 1913, at Geneva, and passed away April 21, 2002, at Heritage Crossings in Geneva, at the age of 88 years, four months and 26 days. He was one of two children in the family. Lawrence lived his entire life in Geneva. He graduated from Geneva High School and attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Pharmacy. Lawrence became a partner in Picard Pharmacy in Geneva, a multi-faceted business, including not only a pharmacy, but also a business that sold appliances and Venus oil. He eventually bought out Picard Pharmacy, and changed the name to Doud-Faimon after going into partnership with Bill Famon. He ran an upscale drug and gift store until 1979, when a debilitating stroke forced his retirement. Larry was married to Elizabeth Jane Jones of Wayne, on June 27, 1940, and to them four children were born. He and his wife wintered in Sun City, Ariz., where they enjoyed playing golf daily. Larry's hobbies in addition to golf, included gardening and his family. He remained avidly interested in both throughout his life. Larry was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, serving as a Church Board Member and singing in the choir for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity at the University of Nebraska. He was a past president of the Rotary Club and also served as a member of the Geneva School Board. he was also active in the Geneva Golf Club, serving in various capacities. he was an avid sports fan and supported the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Larry had a great loyalty to the community of Geneva throughout his life. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas and Josephine Cecila Donohue Doud; his wife, Elizabeth Jane; sister, Mary Doud and grandson Seanan Picard. He is survived by his children, daughters, Judith Picard, Jane Hassel and husband Lenny, Deb Fehringer and husband Ray; son Thomas Doud and wife Christine; granddaughters, Erin and husband Philip Boeckman, Meghan Trevarrow, Jenny Doud, Katie Doud, Jill Hassel, and Micaela Fehringer; grandsons, Ryan Doud, Timothy Hassel, and Eric Fehringer; great-grandchildren, Drew Lawrence Boeckman and Elizabeth Boeckman; and Paige Trevarrow. Funeral services ere conducted from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Geneva on Wednesday, April 24, with Msgr. Ivan Vap officiating. Carole Prater accompanied the St. Joseph's Choir, who sang "O Paradise," "Be Not Afraid," "You Are Mine" and Amazing Grace. Casket bearers were Megan E. Doud, Jennifer A. Doud, Cathrine M. Doud, Ryan P. Doud, Timothy M. Hassel, Jill M. Hassel, Eric D. Fehringer and Micaela E. Fehringer. Interment was in the St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal May 1st, 2002 page 6
