Description	:	CEDAR FALLS - Mrs. Linda (Potter) Simpson, 85, of 1314 Main, died at Christie Convalescent Home at 3 a.m. Saturday, where she had been a resident since April. She was born Nov. 3, 1868, on a farm in Chickasaw County. She was a daughter of Lester and Clarissa Potter. On Sept. 5, 1889, she married David E. Simpson at Williamstown. They engaged in farming in Chickasaw County, then moved to Ames for several years, then to Cedar Falls, where they operated a large rooming house for girls near Iowa State Teachers College. Read More	CEDAR FALLS - Mrs. Linda (Potter) Simpson, 85, of 1314 Main, died at Christie Convalescent Home at 3 a.m. Saturday, where she had been a resident since April. She was born Nov. 3, 1868, on a farm in Chickasaw County. She was a daughter of Lester and Clarissa Potter. On Sept. 5, 1889, she married David E. Simpson at Williamstown. Mr. Simpson died in July 1931. The couple's two sons preceded their mother in death. Nearest surviving kin is a grandson, Barton O. Simpson, in the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes Naval Training Station. Linda was a member of First Methodist Church of Cedar Falls and was active in Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
