Anderson Rites Held Tuesday Funeral sevices for Lloyd John Anderson, 76, were held from the chapel of the Holt & Byers Funeral Home Tues Febr 26, with the Rev. Tom Banks officiating. Burial was in the Central City cemetery. Mrs. T. Leo Stines, organist accompanied Donald McHargue when he sang "The Lord's Prayer". Active pallbearers were Floyd Gorgen, Henry Pullen, Emmett Shoup, Robert Mustard, Andrew Thomson and Ervin Hesselgesser. Honorary pallbearers were Al Nantkes, Vern Hilton, Harold Ross, Robert Adams, Victor Blase, Allen Jensen, Harold Snider, Robert Campbell, and Kenneth Ullstrom. The Masonic funeral service was by Lone Tree Lodge No. 36 AF and AM with Worshipful Brother T. Leo Stines, Orator. Mr. Anderson died Sunday, Febr 24 at Central City Hospital. He was born June 24, 1896 in Omaha and was a long time roadmaster for the Union Pacific Railroad at Omaha before his retirement. He was married to Vernice Karls in 1919. She preceded him in death in 1961. On Febr 23, 1962 he married Helen Nordstrom Smith in Sidney and the couple made their home in Central City. He was a member of John J. Mercer Lodge No. 290 AF & AM in Omaha and the Consistory and Scottis Rite Masons there, and the Eastern Star Arbor Lodge No. 200 in Central City, and the Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his widow; one step-daughter, Mrs. E.D. McConnell of Grantsburg, Wis., and two step-grandchildren. Sources: Obituary, Lloyd's youngest cousin (in 2013) and, US census records.
