Description	:	She was born in Macon County, the daughter of Johnnie H. Grant and Kansada Mason Dills. (*Note, some researchers list her mother's first name as Rachael but on Lottie's self-reported Social Security files, she put Mary K Mason and John H Dills as her parents). She married Riley William Hogue and they lived at Nantahala area (where she was born) the family's land is actually just over the Macon County line in Swain County. Read More	She was born in Macon County, the daughter of Johnnie H. Grant and Kansada Mason Dills. She married Riley William Hogue and they lived at Nantahala area (where she was born) the family's land is actually just over the Macon County line in Swain County. It goes from Fairview church and down that road behind the church then crosses over into Swain County. After passing Silvermine Gap Road on the left, it goes right onto their road and two miles to her parent's home; her parents owned 75 acres--parent of it is in the Nantahala National Forest today (2014) and some was owned by son Earl but now owned by a daughter though no one lives there. They lived on part of this land for some time then moved to Haywood County after her husband's death. She worked in the school system as a cafeteria worker. She she was a petite, mannerly lady who was always smiling and friendly. She loved to laugh and was a strong Christian lady and a good cook. She could get a meal together for visiting families in 30 minutes. She was a selfless person and always took interest in others. When she was elderly she wore her hair pulled back into a granny knot at the nape of her neck. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her "Grandma Hogue." She was in Autumn Manor Rest Home in Haywood County near the very end of her life.
