Haub, 78, formerly of Dayton, passed away on September 23, 2009 at the V.A. Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa. The body will be cremated. Services will be held at a later date in Marshalltown. Lyle was born Oct. 2, 1931 at Farnhamville, Iowa to Ezra and Eva (Featherstone) Haub. The family moved to Dayton in 1936. After graduation from Dayton High School, he served his country in the 3rd Marine Division during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Dayton Mutual Telephone (General Telephone) for many years. Later he worked for Stratford Mutual Telephone and in telecommunications until his retirement. In 1956, he married Shirley Taylor at Dayton. They later divorced. To this union two sons were born. After moving to Moulton, Iowa, he married Sheila Rowe, later divorcing. He moved to the V.A. Hospital in Marshalltown in 2009. He was a member of Dayton Legion Peterson Post #343 and the Burl McClure Post #280 in Moulton and the Methodist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, photography and in the early years, owning and flying small planes with his brother John and brother-in-law Larry Taylor. Survivors include sons Dana (Terri) Haub of Moulton; Ky Haub of Fort Dodge; brothers Robert of Marshalltown, Ralph of Winterset, Daryl (Donna) and John (Cindy) all of Dayton; sister Audrey Iles of Davenport, FL; two grandchildren Colby and Bethany, and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Vivian, sister-in-law Joan (Ralph) and brother-in-law Clifford (Audrey). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
