Mrs. Tieman was born Dec. 1, 1927, at St. Edward to Walter and Elizabeth (Voight) Zimmerman. She was baptized at United Methodist Church in St. Edward on April 1, 1934. She attended elementary school at Woodville Boone County School District 59 near St. Edward and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1945. She married Elmer W. Tieman on June 2, 1946, at the Methodist Church in St. Edward. The couple lived in and around the St. Edward area. In 1958, they moved to the Skeedee Area where they farmed until 1968 when they moved to St. Edward. She was a member of United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in St. Edward and belonged to their women's group. She was also a member of Piecing Pals Quilting Club, Early Hour Extension Club and was involved at Beaver Valley Senior Care Center in St. Edward. She painted and wallpapered for people around the area. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Tim Reardon of St. Edward and Joyce and Robert Parker of Columbus; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Nancy Tieman of Beatrice; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Maine and Lawrence Choyeski of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Margaret Choyeski and Mildred Tourtillott, and a brother, Donald Zimmerman
