Muir, died at 3:35 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore J. Miller, 822 Randolph street, with whom she had resided for the last 30 years. Muir, died at 3:35 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore J. Miller, 822 Randolph street, with whom she had resided for the last 30 years. Death was caused directly by a cerebral hemorrhage suffered two weeks ago which had since kept her bedfast. Mary Ann McChane was born Oct. 2, 1856, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of John and Margaret McChane. She came to Iowa with her parents when a small child and they settled on a farm near La Porte City, Ia. She was married in La Porte City to James A. Muir, March 10, 1878, and they went to Peoria, Ill., to make their home. Mr. Muir died there in 1888 and Mrs. Muir returned to make her home in La Porte City until moving to Waterloo about 1909. A lifelong Presbyterian, she was affiliated with Westminster church in Waterloo. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Miller are a brother, Edward McChane, Seattle, Wash., and two grandchildren, Robert and Kathryn Miller, of the Randolph street address. Six brothers, John, Joseph, James, Edward, William and Henry, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Corwin, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the O'Keefe & Towne chapel by Rev. Harry J. Moore, pastor of Westminster church, with burial in Memorial Park cemetery. (Note: s/b 5 brothers preceded her in death. Edward was still living.)
