In a little more than one short week after the death had claimed the husband and father, Mr. Lee Mullins, the wife, Mrs. Minnie Mullins, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fielding Parker of this city, passed away at her home in Oklahoma City, Friday last, after an illness of about three weeks duration, both falling victims to that dread disease, typhoid fever. The remains of Mrs. Mullins were brought to this city Saturday and after a short funeral service conducted by Rev. Robertson at the Christian church, interment was made in the Humboldt cemetery. It is indeed sad to contemplate the terrible effects of the blighting hand of disease as visited upon this home in so short a time, this inditing the final chapter in the book of life ere the meridian hath been reached, and making of the little son an orphan almost in the twinkling of an eye. Mrs. Mullins was the first to become bedfast with the disease, and it was while ministering to her needs that the husband was stricken. Although everything within human power was done to alleviate their condition, Mr. Mullions passed away on Thursday, November 8th, and because of her serious condition Mrs. Mullins was never apprised of his death. Mill Minnie Parker was born in this city January 24, 1885, and was at the time of her death 25 years, 8 months and 17 days old. About seven years ago she united in marriage to Mr. Lee Mullins, and since that time had been a resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. To this union a little son, Gerald, four years old, was born. A sister, Miss Edith Parker, and Mr. Parker were at her bedside during her last moments and accompanied the remains to this city. To the sorrowing relatives is extended the sympathy of all. -Humboldt Standard.
