Rev. Jon Damaska will officiate and interment will be in Schafer Cemetery. Julia Leiseth will be organist and Dick Luttrell soloist. Ushers will be John Christianson, Clarence Rude, Kenny Larson and R. D. Sundfor. Pallbearers will be Konrad Norstog, John Melby, Tommy Bond, Bjarne Norstog, Al Brown and Ray Stenberg. Mrs. Staley died Saturday, September 6, 1980, at the McKenzie County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Myrl Jarvis Staley, daughter of John and Mary Jarvis, was born in Grinswold, IA, August 10, 1897. She moved with her parents at an early age to Atkinson, NB, where she grew to womanhood. After graduating from high school, she went to Clear Lake, SD, where she engaged in the teaching profession and met Clyde Staley, who later became her husband. They were married on June 21, 1919, at Atkinson. Mr. Staley, just back from military service, had filed on a homestead south of Alexander prior to entering the army. They moved to North Dakota to prove up on the claim. Mrs. Staley spent eight years in teaching, three of them in South Dakota and five in Watford City and surrounding schools. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church and was very active for over 40 years in church related and personal Christian ministries, including Sunday School teacher and superintendent, Women's Missionary Society and personal visitation to the sick and shut-ins. Survivors include her husband, two sons, Bob, Indianapolis, IN, and Lyle, Seattle, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Leiseth Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
