Description	:	Opal Bain Jeffries, 95, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Home Hospital, Lafayette. Opal was born on April 9, 1914 in Mooresville to Frank and Emma(sic)Kays)Bain. She grew up in Mooresville and graduated from Mooresville High School in 1933. She moved to Indianapolis in 1940 and was employed at Switzer Cummins and P. R. Mallory for several years. She married Charles "Jeff" Jeffries, and they resided in Beech Grove before moving to Monticello in 1953. She was employed at Cole's True Flight Arrow and Bassett Rotary Tool before retiring in 1974. Opal was born on April 9, 1914 in Mooresville to Frank and Emma(sic)Kays)Bain. She grew up in Mooresville and graduated from Mooresville High School in 1933. She moved to Indianapolis in 1940 and was employed at Switzer Cummins and P. R. Mallory for several years. She married Charles "Jeff" Jeffries, and they resided in Beech Grove before moving to Monticello in 1953. She was employed at Cole's True Flight Arrow and Bassett Rotary Tool before retiring in 1974. Opal was a member of Monticello Christian Church, White County Extension Club, White County Council on Aging, Senior Citizens and American Legion Auxillary Post 81. She was preceded in death by husband Jeff, in 1974, and brothers Cecil, Emory, Richard, William, Robert and Harold; sisters Mildred, Dorothy, and Marjorie. Survivors include a son, Steven (Rose), granddaughters Elizabeth and Sara and two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Inezrose Bain Bailey and Nancy Bain. She leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved and cherished her. She was the matriarch of the Bain family and will be missed by many. There were no services. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery, Monticello, on Saturday, February 27, 2010.
