Description	:	Obituary: Otto Walter Ernst Meyer, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Meyer, was born on the farm of his parents near Chester on Dec. 11, 1924. On the third day after his birth he was baptized in the name of the Triune God. After due instruction he received the rite of confirmation last spring and was permitted to go to Holy Communion. Read More	Obituary: Otto Walter Ernst Meyer, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Meyer, was born on the farm of his parents near Chester on Dec. 11, 1924. On the third day after his birth he was baptized in the name of the Triune God. After due instruction he received the rite of confirmation last spring and was permitted to go to Holy Communion. He graduated from grade school in 1937. For the past three years he attended Chester high school. Before Christmas he became ill with influenza pneumonia. He seemed to be on the road to recovery, but he became seriously ill on January 9, and it was discovered that he had an abcess on the pleural. He was taken to the Belleville, Kans., hospital on January 10, where he underwent a serious operation. All that loving care and medical aid could do was exerted to help him. He passed away on Wednesday, January 17, at 3:50 a.m. He was ever cheerful and patient and ready to depart when God called him. After prayers with his father he sent farewell greetings to his loved ones at home and to all of his many friends, and closed his eyes on this world to be with his Savior in rest, peace and glory, with no fear of death whatsoever. He reached the age of 15 years, 1 month and 6 days. He was a member of St. Paul's Luther League and of the Adult Sunday School Class. His early departure is mourned by his bereaved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Meyer of Chester; one brother, Alvin of Hebron; three sisters, Erna, Lydia and Adelia at home; his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Kraft of Orange, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Alvin Meyer; his classmates and a host of other relatives and friends. Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death in their early infancy. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; yea saith the spirit that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."
