OBITUARIES: The Phillipsburg Dispatch, Mar. 17, 1904 Mrs. Gaines, who has resided in Deer Creek township for the past 20 years, died March 9. The funeral services were held at the Hillsdale church, conducted by Rev. Courtner. The remains were laid to rest in the Hillsdale cemetery. Mrs. Gaines was 58 years old at the time of her death. She leaves a husband and six children. The Phillipsburg Herald, Mar. 17, 1904 Mrs. Moses Gaines died at her home in Deer Creek township, Wednesday March 9th, aged 58 yr. 3 mo. and 1 day. The funeral services were held at the Hillsdale church Thursday conducted by Rev. Cortner and the remains laid to rest in the Hillsdale cemetery. Mrs. Gains was an old resident in the neighborhood and was known by all as a true friend and neighbor and a consistent Christian woman.
