Fuhrman, 78, a retired farmer, died this morning at 7 o'clock from heart trouble and complications, at his home in Shannon. He had been in poor health for two years but was not bedfast until last September. Mr. Fuhrman was born April 19, 1867, in Germany, the son of Johanna and Ernst Fuhrman. He came with his parents to the United States when he was six years of age. They settled in Atchison county where Mr. Fuhrman had lived ever since. For 13 years he farmed southeast of Lancaster, moving to Atchison in 1924. In 1941 he moved to his present home in Shannon. Traugott Fuhrman was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Schwope of Doniphan county, March 31, 1897. They were the parents of two children, a daughter, Mrs. Ervin Schendel of Rochester, Minn., and a son, Harvey Fuhrman of the Camp Creek neighborhood. Besides his wife and children, Mr. Fuhrman is survived by one sister, Emma Schwope of Vista, Calif., two brothers, Herman Fuhrman of Lancaster, and Julius Fuhrman of Denton, and six grandchildren. When a young man Mr. Fuhrman joined the Evangelical church and was a faithful member all his life. He was a good husband and father and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Camp Creek Evangelical church with the Rev. G. C. Gilbert officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon cemetery. The body will be taken to Shannon Thursday evening and will lie in state at the church an hour before the services. Stanton & Stanton is in charge. Pallbearers will be Carl Fuhrman, George Fuhrman, John Fuhrman, Ed Fuhrman, Albert Fuhrman, Fred Furhman, Nathan Repstine and Will Meyer.
